Former Dothan Smoothie King owner indicted on sexual assault charges

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — The former owner of two Dothan smoothie shops was indicted on charges claiming he raped and sodomized a victim.

Jerald Reginald Clark was indicted on one count of Rape in the first degree and one count of Sodomy in the first degree. Shortly after being indicted, Clark pled not guilty to the charges.

Clark was arrested in October 2023. Dothan Police did not release many details surrounding his arrest but confirmed investigators spoke with several people who provided information about the allegations, and additional charges could be pending.

According to Clark’s indictments, the alleged crimes occurred between July 9 and August 31, 2023.

At the time of his arrest, Clark owned two Smoothie Kings in Dothan; however, the locations reopened in February 2024 under new ownership.

Clark has a tentative trial date set for the end of August.
