Over the past month, since he chose to quit and name his vice president, Kamala Harris, as the Democratic Party nominee, former President Donald Trump has lost a lot of ground on President Joe Biden.
Trump was well ahead of Biden in almost all major polls, including those in swing states. He was also picking up voters from groups that usually vote Democratic until Harris became the official candidate.
But a new poll just for DailyMail.com shows that the 45th president is still on track to become the 47th president, with a two-point lead over the vice president. The polling results were used by the news source to say that among 1001 likely voters surveyed, 43% would vote for Trump if the election were held today, while only 41% would vote for Harris.
The news source also said that the poll’s error margin is 3.1%, which means that the race in November will be a “nail-biter.”
“A separate online survey teased out the attributes responsible for Trump’s lead. It found that voters still see him as the stronger, more charismatic candidate, who is more likely to get things done,” DailyMail.com noted, adding that despite Trump’s lead, Harris is doing better than Biden “across the board.”
The Trump campaign concentrated on the fact that Harris was an important part of the “Biden-Harris administration,” where she was given duties by the president but mostly failed to do a good job, like her job as “border czar.”
In fact, Trump’s campaign responded to the White House’s claim that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris do not share “daylight,” which means they have different policy goals and aims.
On social media, the Trump campaign directed a comment at White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. They said that her opinion shows that “Kamala owns the border crisis” and other policies that have made it harder for Americans to get ahead while the world has become less stable.
The press secretary said on Monday during the White House press briefing that Biden and Harris have been “aligned” throughout the administration and that there’s no “daylight” between them.
Thank you @PressSec for confirming: there is “no daylight” between Kamala and Joe!

The White House spokeswoman was responding to a media inquiry about a possible policy review process between Biden and Harris as the president enters his final months in office and Harris continues to rally support for her presidential campaign in November.
Leavitt added in a comment to Fox News Digital on Monday that “Kamala created this mess” and that she, therefore, “cannot be trusted” to address such issues under a potential Harris administration.
