Sandra Bullock‘s final hours with her long-term partner Bryan Randall before he died have been revealed by the actress’ sister.
The ‘Oceans 8’ actress tragically lost her 57-year-old partner to ALS, an illness he’d kept private for several years.
In a statement, his family expressed their sorrow, saying: “With deep sadness, we announce that Bryan Randall peacefully departed on August 5th, concluding a valiant 3-year battle against ALS.”
The family continued: “Bryan made the deliberate choice to keep his fight with ALS private, and those of us who cared for him diligently respected his wish.”
The statement went on: “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the unwavering medical professionals who guided us through the complexities of this ailment, and to the exceptional nurses who became an integral part of our lives, often putting their own families aside to stand by ours. During this period, we kindly ask for privacy as we mourn and attempt to come to grips with the painful reality of bidding farewell to Bryan.”

Bullock’s sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, took to Instagram to pay tribute to the talented model-turned-photographer, sharing some rare insight into the final moments of the couple.
“I’m convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his lure into rushing rivers teaming with salmon,” Gesine wrote alongside a cheerful photo of Randall on Monday (August 7).
She also revealed that Bullock had stayed by his side before his passing on Saturday (August 5).
“ALS is a cruel disease but there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home,” Gesine continued. “Rest peacefully, Bryan.”
Randall’s family confirmed his passing on Monday, revealing that he had been quietly battling the disease, which affects nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain.
Bullock, 59, crossed paths with Randall in January 2015 when he photographed her son Louis’ birthday celebration. The couple’s romantic relationship began a few months later, and they made their red carpet-debut that same year.
Despite the ‘A Time to Kill’ actress’ penchant for privacy when it comes to her private life, she revealed on ‘Red Table Talk’ in December 2021 that Randall was the “love of [her] life.”
At that time, the ‘Lost City’ actress enthusiastically praised their blended family, encompassing Randall’s daughter Skylar and Sandra’s two kids, Louis and daughter Laila.
Regarding co-parenting alongside Randall, she said: “He sets the example I wish my children to follow.”

She further explained that the pair hadn’t rushed to get married because their priority was putting the children first. “I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner, devoted mother,” she said. “I don’t need to be told to be ever-present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man.”
As of now, Bullock has not made any public statements regarding her partner’s passing.
In lieu of flowers, Randall’s family has encouraged contributions to the ALS Association and the Massachusetts General Hospital.
