Shakira Abruptly Walks Off Stage After She Spots Fan ‘Filming Up Her Dress’ While Dancing

The pop star seemingly stormed off stage after she seemingly spotted someone trying to record indecent footage of her while partying.

Heartbreaking footage from Saturday night (September 14) shows Shakira abruptly leaving the stage after it appeared that some fans tried to film up her dress.

One would hope basic human decency would prevent this, yet it continues to happen, especially to celebrities.

It seems some people forget that stars are human too.

Thankfully, this wasn’t a ticketed event to see Shakira perform, but kudos to her for taking a stand against such disrespectful behavior.

The incident occurred at the prestigious LIV Miami nightclub in Florida, where the 47-year-old singer was debuting her new single ‘Soltera’, set to be released later this year.

Video of the unsettling moment was captured by attendees.

It shows Shakira in a gold sequin dress, performing her signature dance moves on a small stage.

While she was dancing in front of her fans—most of whom were recording her—she noticed one camera that was angled too low.

Shakira motioned to the person with the camera, signaling them to aim at her face instead of lower down, clearly indicating her discomfort.

Moments later, she saw the same person trying to film beneath her dress again.

That’s when she grabbed her minidress from the front and back and walked off stage, heading straight to the VIP section.

Fans took to Twitter to support Shakira.

One fan expressed frustration, saying: “Shakira can’t even enjoy and dance to her OWN song like??”

Another commented on the broader issue, stating: “Why do creepy men ruin eVERYTHING.”

A third chimed in, noting: “That’s truly disappointing behavior. Artists deserve respect and privacy, both on and off stage.

“It’s crucial to ensure a safe environment for everyone.”

In Florida, filming up someone’s skirt is not only inappropriate, it’s illegal and falls under the crime of voyeurism.

Legal expert Robert David Malove explains on his website:

“Florida Statute 810.145 makes it illegal to secretly record or broadcast someone in an intimate state for reasons of personal interest or sexual gratification.

“Personal interest could include amusement, entertainment, profit, or degradation of the victim (such as ‘upskirting’ or installing a hidden camera in someone’s bedroom).

“If your voyeurism offense included a phone, camera, or another imaging device to record the victim’s private areas, you would face enhanced criminal penalties.”

The team at LIV Miami clarified to Page Six that the issue was not with the fans but with Shakira’s own crew:

“it was actually [Shakira’s] photo and video team that she was trying to get to stop filming her while she was enjoying the moment with the crowd and fans.”

Last year, Shakira relocated to Miami from Barcelona with her sons, Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9, after ending her relationship with soccer star Gerard Pique.

The couple had been together for 11 years before they publicly announced their breakup in 2022.

Pique, aged 37, later made headlines with his new relationship with Clara Chía Martí, who is rumored to be the reason behind his split from Shakira.

In a sharp response, Shakira took a jab at her ex and his new partner in her recent tracks “TQG” and “BZRP Music Session #53,” which were both released last year.

Shakira, also known as the “Whenever, Wherever” singer and who has been linked to celebrities like Tom Cruise and Lewis Hamilton since her breakup, shared with Rolling Stone in their July-August 2024 issue that she currently has no interest in dating.

She explained, “I’m not thinking about that. What space do I have for a man right now?”

However, she candidly admitted to still having a soft spot for men despite her recent troubles, considering it somewhat of a dilemma.

“I shouldn’t like them with everything that’s happened to me, but imagine how much I like men that I still like them,” she confessed.
