Today, we are starting with Peace Lilies. What should we pay attention to in their care to ensure they grow healthy, flourish abundantly, and bloom frequently? As you can see, my Peace Lilies are thriving beautifully and healthily. They are once again filled with buds, ready to bloom. In my last video, I had applied a starch treatment, and when given regularly, these beauties continue to bloom from spring until autumn.
To ensure our plant thrives, we must focus on a few key aspects. First and foremost, leaf care is crucial. The leaves should be given a warm shower every ten days. Additionally, spraying the leaves with warm water daily helps maintain their freshness. Second, we should plant them in small pots rather than large ones, as they prefer compact spaces. Third, the soil must be well-prepared, ensuring good aeration for the roots. Avoid using only peat-based soil, as the plant does not favor it. Instead, we need a well-mixed soil blend. If you are wondering how to prepare a proper soil mix, I have shared a video on this before. You can watch that for more details.
Let’s not forget—healthy plant growth and abundant blooming start with high-quality soil. If we want our plants to produce lush leaves and numerous flowers, we must prioritize the soil mix. A well-aerated, nutrient-rich soil will allow the roots to flourish. Without proper soil, no matter how many treatments or fertilizers we use, we will not see the desired results. A thriving plant starts from its roots. Once the roots are healthy and active, the plant will produce more leaves and flowers effortlessly.
Aspirin Treatment for Healthy Roots and Leaves
Today, I have brought an incredible treatment for our plant’s health—aspirin. Aspirin is highly effective in activating the roots, eliminating harmful microbes in the soil, and protecting the plant from diseases. I previously applied an aspirin treatment to my Peace Lilies, and their current condition speaks for itself. I only apply this treatment every two to three months, although it can be given monthly if needed.
Aspirin helps strengthen plant roots, makes the leaves shinier, and supports healthy growth. Some gardeners mix aspirin with yeast treatments, but I have not personally tried this combination. I prefer testing treatments on my plants first before sharing them with you. Once I observe the results, I will provide feedback.
Preparing the Aspirin Solution
To begin, crush an aspirin tablet into a fine powder. Then, prepare some water for mixing. I always emphasize that the water should be lukewarm and left to rest beforehand. Using cold water can put the plant’s roots under stress. Lukewarm, settled water is best for absorption.
Once the aspirin is fully dissolved in the water, we need to ensure thorough mixing. Since aspirin takes a little time to dissolve, stirring well is essential.
Today, I will nourish my Peace Lilies both through their roots and leaves. Both need proper care to ensure healthy development. However, aspirin should not be applied every ten days. Instead, we can alternate with other treatments like potato starch or egg white solutions every ten days.
Application of the Aspirin Treatment
Now, let’s pour the prepared solution into a spray bottle. Half of the mixture will be sprayed onto the leaves, while the other half will be applied to the soil.
Before applying to the soil, make sure the soil is slightly moist. Never apply the solution to dry soil. Peace Lilies love humidity, and giving them a warm shower every ten days will greatly benefit them.
When spraying the leaves, be sure to cover all surfaces, including the undersides and the plant’s stems. Leaves can collect dust, insects, and potential fungal spores, so spraying both the top and bottom of the leaves ensures full protection.
Daily Leaf Care and Watering
Apart from vitamin treatments, it is essential to mist the leaves with plain water daily. In summer, increase the frequency of misting to at least twice a day to maintain hydration. However, vitamin-enriched sprays should only be used every ten days.
This care routine ensures that our Peace Lilies remain lush, vibrant, and resistant to pests and diseases. When given proper soil, water, and nutrition, they reward us with continuous blooms throughout the year.
I always aim to share detailed plant care techniques with you. I know some of my videos can be long, but I want to provide all the necessary information so you can successfully care for your plants. I hope today’s tips were helpful!
