LOACHAPOKA, Ala. (WRBL) – Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a Loachapoka High School student-athlete and injuring another student in Notasulga, Macon County.
16-year-old Javion Gary, a student-athlete, was killed. A second teenager was also injured in the shooting but is expected to recover.
Barthonia Howard and Elijah Rogers were arrested in Tuscaloosa County on August 12 and booked into the Tuscaloosa Detention Center for the Macon County Sheriff’s Office. Both face charges of Murder and Attempted Murder related to the August 8th deadly shooting near a basketball court on Union Camp Road in Notasulga.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is leading the investigation into the shooting.
WRBL has reached out to ALEA for further details, including the suspects’ ages, their connection with the victims, a possible motive, and whether they are from the East Alabama area.
