Warm Ginger Turmeric Milk (Golden Milk)

Ingredients:
1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based like almond, oat, or coconut)
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric (or 1-inch fresh turmeric root, grated)
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1-inch fresh ginger root, grated)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
A pinch of black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, to sweeten)
Optional: a splash of vanilla extract or a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor
Instructions:
Heat the Milk
In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk over medium heat. Do not let it boil.

Add the Spices
Stir in the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper. Whisk well to combine.

Simmer
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld and the turmeric to fully dissolve.

Sweeten (Optional)
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in honey, maple syrup, or vanilla extract if desired.

Strain and Serve
If using fresh turmeric or ginger, strain the milk through a fine mesh sieve into a mug. Serve warm.

Serving Tip:
Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg for a cozy finish. Enjoy as a calming nighttime drink or a wellness boost any time of the day.

Cheers to your health!
