Woman Sparks Heated Debate After Revealing Her Husband Pays Her $100 A Week For Household Chores

Alyssa ‘Aly’ Dee has divided YouTube users after sharing details about her and her husband’s unique arrangement.

A woman who believes that feminism is “completely unnecessary” has stirred controversy online by revealing her husband pays her $100 a week to take care of their home.

Relationships are fascinating because no two are the same. What may seem strange or impractical to one couple could be the ideal arrangement for another.

One such couple, 28-year-old Alyssa ‘Aly’ Dee and her 51-year-old husband Tom, have expressed that they are more than content with their current lifestyle.

The couple, who share a notable 23-year age gap, first met while working in the military.

They have been married for nearly three years and are now expecting their first child together.

During an episode of Truly’s My Extraordinary Family, Aly shared that she was balancing school and work during her engagement to Tom.

She admitted to sensing that her fiancé might want “more attention” from her, which led to her decision to embrace the role of a stay-at-home wife.

She explained that this choice seemed to benefit both of them, aligning with what they wanted for their relationship.

“The agreement was that if I sucked being a homemaker that I would go back to work,” the expectant mother explained during an eight-minute YouTube video.

“I wouldn’t say I’m a feminist at all. I think that feminism is all bad.”

“Men love women so much that they would have liberated us after they fully liberated themselves anyway,” she continued, elaborating on her thoughts about their dynamic.

“I’m of the opinion that feminism is completely unnecessary and that it’s a female supremacy movement.”

Aly also shared that she handles most of the cooking, cleaning, and laundry in their household.

For her efforts, she receives a weekly payment of $100 from her husband.

She claimed that this weekly payment is actually more than what she earned during her time in the military.

Aly emphasized that she carefully manages their finances to avoid overspending her husband’s money.

“I know some wives, they don’t have a conscience with that, but I’d prefer if I never had to look at a screen with dollars, ever.”

“There are feminists on Reddit who hate me,” she noted, adding that “Most of which are single over the age of 30.”

The episode, which aired on YouTube on November 11, has garnered over 13,500 views and sparked a lively discussion in the comments.

Hundreds of viewers have shared their opinions on Aly and Tom’s arrangement, with one commenter arguing that $100 is not nearly enough to cover the workload of a stay-at-home wife.

“Do your thing girl, but also, know your worth and don’t be afraid to ask for it! You deserve more than $400 a month for all that work,” they commented.

Another viewer shared a similar experience: “I dated a guy once who did the same thing to me. He wanted me to quit my job and stay home and he would give me $100 a week that being said I broke it off.”

Meanwhile, some admired the couple’s setup, with one user stating: “I wish I could find this……… a traditional marriage where the woman is HAPPY to stay home- cook and clean and doesn’t feel the need to freak out. This is such a diamond in the rough in 2024 in western cultures – 100$ aside or not who cares. He pays for everything for her in and out.”

Not everyone supported their arrangement, though. One user criticized it by saying: “TRAD WIFE is so toxic. Feminism happened for a reason, they had no choices or options or freedom. This is odd.”

“I don’t care what you do in your own relationship. But to claim feminism is bad because ‘men love women so much that they would’ve liberated us after they were fully liberated anyway’ is a wild, stupid thing to say,” argued another, expressing their strong disagreement.

A third chimed in: “Not my business, not my problem but girl get that raise with each kid because they want to eat and go places all day everyday.”
